A twining root climber. Stem 0.4- 0. 7 cm or more in diameter, without exudate, striated, glabrous. Leaves spirally arranged, crowded at the terminal portion of the stem, simple, elongate, linear to lanceolate, apex acuminate, base shallowly attenuate; blade 11 – 24 cm long, 1.2 – 3.2 cm broad, glabrous, shiny and coriaceous; venation parallel. Inflorescence in cluster of terminal spadices. Fruit syncarpous, globose, cylindric, or ovoid, composed of numerous dense drupes; drupes ovoid or irregularly angled with asymmetric edges. Seed cylindric.
